John Damgard steps down from futures association

Former USDA executive and aide to Vice President Spiro Agnew, veteran president of FIA has led group since 1982. After nearly 30 years leading the Futures Industry Association, John Damgard will be stepping down as president, his group announced Sept. 9. Damgard made the announcement public at the close of the 32nd annual Burgenstock Conference in Interlaken, Switzerland, which began Sept. 6-9 and was sponsored by the Swiss Futures and Options Association. “I will step down as soon as the board finds a suitable replacement,” Damgard told the crowd of industry leaders, according to a report on FIA’s web site.
